Meet Jared and Alice Massanari...
the authors of Building a House Together

Alice and Jared Massanari built their house in Asheville, North Carolina in 2006 with Home Source R.E. and Construction, Inc. It is this personal experience that inspired them to write Building a House Together: A Couple's Guide to Managing their Relationship During the Construction Process.

"When we started building our house together we knew there would be certain stressors...What we didn't expect was how much work we would have to do to 'manage' our relationship during the construction process. We had been married more than forty years already and together we had about that many years of experience as professional counselors, which included working with couples and families. Together we had faced some pretty big life stressors and we had always worked on communicating clearly with one another. We didn't assume the stress would show up primarily in our relationship. But it did."
